SHANIA Twain has announced she will headline a show at Belsonic this summer.

The Canadian country singer is the latest headliner to be announced for the popular Belfast music festival, which is based in Ormeau Park.

Twain will be supported by English soul singer Rag’n’Bone Man, known for hits like Human and Anywhere Away From Here featuring US pop star, Pink.

The Belsonic show comes as part of a number of festival appearances the five-time Grammy Award winner has scheduled for this summer.

However, Twain is no stranger to the UK and Ireland, spending considerable time here last year whilst filming the ITV singing competition Starstruck.

Alongside Jason Manford, Adam Lambert and Beverley Knight, Twain judged a vast array of super-fans who shed their normal personas and transformed into their musical idols - including the Canadian star herself.

Quickly becoming a fan favourite, even the charm of Boyzone legend Ronan Keating could not appease viewers when he had to occasionally stand in for Twain on the show due to scheduling conflicts.

The two collaborated on a radio mix of Forever and Ever Amen back in 2021, which was the fifth and final single from Keating’s 11th album, Twenty Twenty.

In addition to judging parody pop stars, Twain also released her new album, Queen of Me, on February 3 last year, which reached number one on the UK album chart.

She continues to be one of the world’s most popular artists, with over 100 million global album sales and 330 million streams in the UK alone.

Notable celebrity fans include Taylor Swift, Lewis Capaldi, Avril Lavigne, Post Malone, Kacey Musgraves, Haim and Harry Styles, who invited Twain to perform with him when he headlined Coachella.

Twain was also the subject of the career-spanning 2022 Netflix documentary Not Just A Girl.

Tickets for the Belsonic date go on sale from Ticketmaster on Thursday February 9 at 9am.
