News: Ex-mayor dies while refereeing GAA game

TRIBUTES poured in last night to an SDLP councillor who collapsed and died while refereeing a GAA match in Co Down. Former Newry and Mourne mayor Michael Cole (54), pictured, collapsed minutes into a division-one league game between Ballyholland and Saval yesterday evening.  04/07/08

Sport: Celtic at Casement ‘a non-starter’: McSparran

GLASGOW Celtic will play namesakes Donegal Celtic later this month – but the glamour pre-season friendly game is unlikely to be staged at Casement Park. The historic clash will probably be played at Donegal Celtic’s home ground of Suffolk Road on Wednesday July 23, but club officials plan to hold talks with local GAA officialdom to discuss the viability of Casement Park.  04/07/08

News: Car-crime death 3rd tragedy for family

A 25-year-old killed in a stolen car that crashed on the outskirts of west Belfast yesterday was one of three brothers to have died in tragic circumstances. Anthony Wilson, pictured, who had a daughter aged six, died when the blue Honda Civic in which he was travelling hit a verge on the Glenside Road, near Poleglass, at about 2am.  04/07/08

Business: More airlines cut Belfast routes due to slowdown

Jet2.com has announced it is to discontinue flights from Belfast to Barcelona and Blackpool from October

More airlines are scaling back ser-vices from Bel-fast this winter because of the economic slowdown and surging oil prices.
