LIAM Neeson has lent his voice to a Catholic prayer app for smartphones, with the Hollywood star reading the work of Belfast writer C.S Lewis.
The Ballymena-born actor has partnered with the Hallow app, which can be downloaded to phones and used to guide people in Catholic prayers and meditations.
The app has seen almost 4 million downloads since its launch in 2018, and each Christmas it runs a 'Pray25' advent campaign to guide users in prayers throughout December.
The app's creators have announced Liam Neeson as a voice for this year's campaign and the Taken star will read samples of writings by C.S Lewis.
The east Belfast author, who died in 1963, penned the popular Chronicles of Narnia books, and was a devout Christian, though was of Anglican faith rather than a Roman Catholic.
Mr Neeson voiced the CGI character of the lion Aslan in film adaptations of three of the Narnia books, beginning with 2005's The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe.

He is being joined by New York actor Jonathan Roumie, who starred as Jesus in TV drama The Chosen, and Catholic speaker Sister Miriam James Heidland, in delivering readings for the app's advent offering.
The app's creators say the trio "will guide you in daily prayer for four weeks of Advent with reflections based on different works of Lewis, including The Four Loves, Mere Christianity, The Great Divorce, and more".
They add: "The daily prayer challenge will help you slow down and find quiet this Advent.
"In this quiet, Advent Pray 25 will help you see how the desires of your heart point to far more and greater than what the world offers."
Speaking of his involvement, Mr Neeson said his readings will "help guide folks through some beautiful meditations", adding it was an "honour" to take part.
